COTTON

STEP 1: WASHING

Cotton is a durable material, but it is best not to wash it too frequently to preserve its color, shape and softness.
Air out your rooms between wears to freshen them up.

IN CASE OF A STAIN

Spot clean with a clean, slightly damp cloth. For a thorough wash, turn the garment inside out and machine wash at a maximum of 30°C with similar colors.

Use a mild, bleach-free detergent. Fabric softener is optional, but may weigh down some items or alter the drape of the cotton.
Choose a normal or delicate program depending on the thickness of the item, with a gentle spin to limit crease marks.

STEP 2: DRYING

Tumble drying is not recommended as it can cause cotton to shrink, especially on fitted pieces.

Air-dry your cotton clothes in the shade, ideally flat or on a suitable hanger. Avoid direct heat (radiator, direct sunlight) and do not twist the garment to wring it out; squeeze it gently if necessary.

STEP 3: IRONING

Cotton may wrinkle slightly, especially if left to air dry. If necessary:

  • Iron at medium to high temperature, inside out to preserve color.
  • Use gentle steam for best results.
  • A damp cloth is useful on dark colors or delicate pieces to prevent shine.

STEP 4: THE INTERVIEW

Store your cotton clothes folded or hanging, depending on their shape:

  • Structured pieces (jackets, shirts) on hangers.
  • Soft items (jeans, tops, jumpsuits, shorts) folded flat.

Store them in a dry, clean place away from light to preserve the color.
Alternate wearing to avoid localized wear, especially in areas prone to friction (crotch, elbows, collar).
Finally, remember to air your pieces from time to time if they remain in the wardrobe for several weeks without being worn.
