VELVET

STEP 1: WASHING

Velvet items do not require frequent washing. It's best to air them between wears to preserve the material and prevent the texture from flattening.

IN CASE OF A STAIN

Opt for localized cleaning using a clean, slightly damp cloth.
If washing is necessary, turn the item inside out and machine wash at a maximum of 30°C, on a delicate cycle, with similar colors.

Use a mild detergent without bleaching agents. Avoid fabric softener, which can weigh down the fabric and damage any elastane. Do not overload the drum: friction can crush the velvet ribbing.

STEP 2: DRYING

Tumble drying is not recommended: heat can shrink the cotton, alter the elastane and damage the texture of the velvet.

Let your garments air dry in the shade, lying flat or hanging upside down. Avoid direct heat sources. Do not twist the garment; gently squeeze it to remove excess water if necessary.

STEP 3: IRONING

Ironing is often unnecessary if the item has been properly washed and dried. If necessary:

  • Iron inside out at low temperature.
  • Never press hard to avoid crushing the velvet.
  • Use a damp cloth or opt for vertical steam, which is ideal for relaxing the fibers without damaging the texture.

STEP 4: THE INTERVIEW

Store your velvet pieces folded flat to avoid marking the material. Avoid hangers, except for wide, padded ones, which can leave marks.

Store them in a dry, clean place, away from light to preserve their color and texture.
Alternate wearing and avoid excessive friction (bags, rough seats) which could wear the fabric in places.
If the room is stored for a long time, remember to air it from time to time.
